Build expressive masks, strange faces, and character pieces full of attitude.

A small change to a clay mouth can make a face look kind, scared, smug, or villainous. This week is about figuring out which one your kid wants their face to be.

Kids build ceramic faces, masks, and character pieces — funny, eerie, dramatic, beautiful, strange, or all of the above. Monday starts with a slab-built mask base, then sculpting features: brows, noses, cheekbones, mouths, ears, horns, scales, hair. Kids learn how a tiny shape change completely changes a mood. Wednesday, once masks are leather-hard, they carve in fine detail — lines around the eyes, hair texture, scars, patterns.

Friday is for underglaze painting, when color changes everything. The masks go to the kiln and come back two to three weeks later — strange, alive, ready to be hung on a wall.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT
Camp runs with a minimum of 3 enrolled students. Families will be notified in advance if minimum enrollment is not met.

ABOUT THE WORK
Ceramic firing is unpredictable. Cracking, warping, glaze defects, and firing loss are normal risks of working with real clay and real heat — we'll always let you know if something happens to your piece. Pieces are held for 30 days after firing; unclaimed work after that becomes studio property.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Summer Camp has its own refund window because we reserve staffing, supplies, and space specifically for your child:
- 21+ days before camp: full refund minus $25 admin fee
- 8–20 days before camp: 50% refund OR 50% studio credit (your choice)
- 7 or fewer days before camp: no refund, no credit
